Who is Aikafund
Aikafund is a non-governmental organization (NGO) that offers scholarships to children in Kabul and Quetta who are for some reason prevented from going to school. The organization helps these children with school expenses such as uniforms, fees, and teaching materials.

How to get sponsored
Any student or upcoming student from age five and up in Kabul or Quetta can apply for a scholarship via the website www.aikafund.org by clicking on the “Apply” link. Once the application is completed and submitted, it comes under consideration and is evaluated by our team. The assessment can take up to 7 working days. The applicant will be contacted via email or phone call, regardless of whether the application has been approved or rejected.

If the application is approved
The applicant and his/her parents or guardian are summoned to sign a contract to be concluded between the applicant (or guardian if the applicant is under 18 years) and Aikafund. The contract is valid for one year but can be annulled if the requirements are failed.

Requirements
A follow-up requirement is a necessary quarterly report from the school that the child attends. The report must show that the student has fulfilled the school’s general procedure according to the school’s and the country’s teaching principles. The report must be sent in writing to Aikafund. If the follow-up requirement is not met, Aikafund may issue notice to the applicant. If the requirement is again not met the next time, Aikafund can cancel the contract immediately or up to one month later.
The funding must under no circumstance be used for different purposes than those approved by Aikafund. If the funding is somehow misused, Aikanfund is obliged to cancel the contract immediately or up to one month later.

Cancellation
Any application is valid for a year, from date of approval to the same date a year later. The application cannot be cancelled unless requirements are not met.

Help packages
We hand out three specific help packages; school uniform (shoes, trousers/skirt, sweater, jacket, necessary accessories such as tie/scarf), school fees, and teaching materials (books, writing equipment, booklets, etc.) from local shops. Every transaction MUST be proved with a receipt from the seller party (shop or school).
Aikafund never distributes money directly to the applicant to avoid abuse from various parties unless an agreement has already been made with a student that they can buy the material with their own money and bring the receipt back, in which case the money will be refunded by Aikafund. Without a valid receipt, this or any other transactions are not possible and Aikafund is not obliged to pay back any money spent by applicant or their acquaintances.

Sibling/family cases
As a starting point, each person must go through (100%) the entire procedure. That is, are siblings applying for scholarship, this and all future procedures must be done separately for each student. Reports, contracts, receipts, etc. must in principle also be done separately. However, this can be further evaluated in the specific case.
